Frequently Asked Questions

Got questions about Hourlyo? We've got answers. Here's everything you need to know to get started.

Do I need a credit card to start the free trial?
No. You do not need a credit card to start Hourlyo’s full-featured 21-day free trial. We want you to explore time tracking, clients and projects, reports, and the agenda workflow without friction or surprise charges. When the trial ends, you decide whether to subscribe; until then you can use the product the same way a paying customer would. If you choose not to add a payment method, your trial simply stops renewing into a paid plan, and you are never automatically billed. The signup flow intentionally avoids asking for card details up front so independent professionals can evaluate Hourlyo honestly before committing.
What happens after my free trial ends?
After your 21-day trial, you’ll see a clear prompt to subscribe if you want uninterrupted access to tracking, scheduling, and exports. If you upgrade, billing is handled transparently through our payment partner and your subscription renews on the cycle you choose. If you do not subscribe right away, your existing entries, clients, projects, and reports remain associated with your account, but creating new timers, meetings, or certain automations may be paused until you activate a plan. You can return later, sign in with the same account, and pick up where you left off without losing the history you already captured during the trial.
Can I cancel my subscription anytime?
Yes. Hourlyo is built for people who dislike lock-in contracts and opaque billing. You can cancel your subscription at any time from your account or billing settings, typically in a single step, and you will not be charged again after the current period you already paid for ends. We do not charge cancellation fees or require support tickets to stop renewal. After cancellation, you retain access through the end of the paid window you already purchased, then the account moves to a non-paying state according to our refund and access policies. If you ever resubscribe, your historical data remains tied to your login unless you explicitly delete it.
Will I lose my data if I cancel?
No. Canceling stops future billing; it does not erase the work you already logged. Your hours, clients, projects, agenda items, and generated reports stay associated with your account so you can reference past work, invoice accurately, or export backups when you need them. We encourage occasional exports for your own archives, especially if you plan to leave the product for a long time, because retention rules for dormant accounts may evolve as the product matures. If you later return on a new subscription, you should find the same historical context available, subject to our standard data retention and privacy policy disclosures.
Who is Hourlyo for?
Hourlyo is for independent professionals who sell their time or need defensible records of where their focus went. That includes developers and designers, but also editors, therapists, account managers, support specialists, educators, coaches, and consultants who juggle multiple clients or internal stakeholders. You might be freelance, a contractor, or employed inside a company yet still responsible for your own time narrative. Hourlyo emphasizes a calm, individual workspace rather than heavyweight enterprise project management: you get timers, clean reporting, client and project structure, and meeting prep without a steep learning curve. If your work benefits from honest time capture and readable summaries, Hourlyo is built with you in mind.
Does Hourlyo integrate with my other tools?
Today Hourlyo focuses on a tight core experience and a few high-impact conveniences. For example, we can generate Zoom links automatically for meetings you plan in the agenda so you spend less time copying URLs between apps. Broader integrations such as deeper Google Calendar sync, additional SSO options, and richer third-party marketplaces are on our public roadmap and roll out as they are ready, rather than promising vaporware. If a specific integration is critical for your workflow, tell us through support or the contact page; customer demand directly influences what we prioritize next while we keep the default product fast and understandable for new users.
Is my data private and secure?
Yes. Your time log and client context are sensitive, and we treat them that way. Hourlyo follows industry-standard practices for encryption in transit, careful access controls on our infrastructure, and least-privilege engineering habits so employees cannot casually browse customer accounts. We do not sell your personal time data to advertisers, and we do not give your clients or employers access to your private workspace unless you explicitly share exports or invite collaborators through features we document. You should still use a strong unique password and enable any future account security options we ship. Read the privacy policy for retention, subprocessors, and regional details that matter to your compliance story.
